To activate live equipment tracking inside Knowify, you’ll need to connect your FleetSharp account using an API token. This is a one-time setup, and should take 5 minutes or less.
Before starting, make sure:
- You can log in to FleetSharp
- You have Admin access in Knowify
Step 1: Enable the FleetSharp integration in Knowify
- Log in to Knowify
- Go to Admin → Customize → Integrations
- Select Telematics by Linxup / FleetSharp
- Click Enable integration (you'll only need to do this once)
- You should now see a new field asking for a FleetSharp API token.
Step 2: Generate an API token in FleetSharp
- Log in to FleetSharp
- Go to: Setup → API / Developers
- In the top right corner of the page, select the "Experimental" API Version
- Click the orange button to create a new API key
- Copy the token you just created
Step 3: Paste the token into Knowify
- Return to the FleetSharp integration screen in Knowify
- Paste the API token into the token field
- Click Save changes
- If the connection is successful Knowify will confirm that the integration is operational.
Troubleshooting
If the connection fails:
- Double-check that the token was copied correctly
- Make sure the token is active in FleetSharp
- Confirm you have Admin permissions in Knowify
