Sometimes, you may wish to include a description of specific line items on your contracts and/ or invoices. Knowify allows you to include additional detail on line items as either a general description, or as an itemized bill of materials
Adding descriptions
To add a general description to any line item, click the 'Edit Details or Comments for Client' button under the line item's name
This will add a text box in which you can write a general description of the line item, including details, notes, inclusions, exclusions, and any other information needed!
For a more detailed breakdown, you can also select 'Enter Breakdown or Bill of Materials'. This will allow you to designate what individual items, services etc. each line includes, as well as the price and markup for each component of the line item. Knowify can then automatically calculate the price of the line item, based on your Bill of Materials:
Invoicing
You are able to include your line item details on invoices as well! When you are First creating an invoice, Knowify will generate a progress billing prompt asking how much you would like to invoice for. Select display more options:
And then check the box for 'Include line item description' 'include bill of materials' or both as needed. You can then invoice normally!
This invoice will then include descriptions for each applicable line item
You cannot retroactively add descriptions to an invoice. If you did not choose to add descriptions when creating an invoice you will need to delete and re-create the invoice to add them or add them to the line item(s) manually
