When creating a new project, Knowify offers multiple options to help automate the process of creating a new job that is similar in scope to a previous job. You will be able to use a:
- Project Plan Templates - to bring in the job phases and budget from a previous job, or
- Copy Jobs - to replicate a contract from a previous job.
Project Plan Templates
Project plan templates are best used when you are creating your jobs in Professional Mode. These are designed to help with the estimating process, where you can pull in all the job phases and budgeted materials costs/labor hours/subcontractor costs from a past job, and use them as a template for a new job. You will have the option of modifying any of the values/quantities that are imported from the template job, and you can use this information when tracking your costs in real-time, once the job is active.
Copy Jobs
The Copy Jobs feature is best used when creating your jobs in Simple, Advanced Mode. Similar to the Project Plan Templates, the Copy Jobs feature is a tool to let you use a past job's bid/contract when creating a new project. It will retain all of the line items, values, and details from a previous contract and you will have the option of making any modifications to the bid or who it needs to be sent to.
