Knowify does not currently have a way to mark items as taxable in Fixed Price with AIA contracts. The standard AIA invoice document does not generally include a space for tax, so the Knowify-produced document follows the same guidelines. If you need to include taxes in your AIA contracts/invoices, we recommend one of the following:
- Include taxes in your pricing. If you'd like, you can quote your prices to be inclusive of taxes. The Knowify support team can also include a line in your proposal contracts that says "all prices inclusive of sales tax" as a complementary service
- Create a sales tax line. If you prefer to separate out sales tax, you can also calculate how much it would be and create a separate line in the contract/schedule of values so it can be invoiced partially with each pay application
If you have more questions about this, please email us at support@knowify.com
Warning
Neither of these methods will sync with the tax codes in QuickBooks. If you are using QuickBooks online, taxes should be added in QuickBooks after the fact.
