This article explains how to use the Resource Last Seen layer on the Activity Map to view an employee's full breadcrumb trail for any given day.
The Resource Last Seen layer only shows data for employees who have Location Sync enabled and have logged time via the mobile clock-in/clock-out flow. If Location Sync hasn't been turned on yet, see How to enable Location Sync for employees in the field first.
Enabling the Resource Last Seen layer
- Go to the Activity Map.
- In the top-right corner of the map, click the layer toggle button.
- Select Resource Last Seen to enable the layer.
- Resource badges will appear on the map showing each employee's most recent recorded location for the selected day.
Viewing a specific employee's breadcrumb trail
- With the Resource Last Seen layer enabled, click on any resource badge on the map.
- The employee's full breadcrumb trail for that day will appear — all location points recorded from clock-in to clock-out.
- Other resources on the map will dim so you can focus on that employee's path.
- Click the same resource badge again to hide their trail and restore full visibility of all resources.
Reading the breadcrumb trail
The trail uses the same visual encoding as the time entry map:
- Solid blue circle: A cluster of location points. This indicates the employee was stationary or in a small area across multiple readings.
- Outlined blue circle: A single location point. This indicates the employee was in motion at that reading.
- Dashed line with arrow: Connects data points and shows the direction of travel.
A legend appears on the map when a resource is selected. Check-in and check-out markers are shown when available.
If Location Sync hasn't been turned on yet, see How to enable Location Sync for employees in the field first.
